“We cannot live in a world that is interpreted for us by others. An interpreted world is not a hope. Part of the terror is to take back our own listening. To use our own voice. To see our own light.” ― Hildegard of Bingen
There is not enough time in my morning to write about all the reasons why I simply adore Hildegard of Bingen, so I’m going to put up some bullet points.
- She is one of the few Doctors of the Catholic Church
- She transcended roles for women
- She understood frequencies – using them in her compositions
- She defied the Church to give someone a burial
- Herbs – I mean, that is enough right there
- She did not give up on her creativity
That’s only a dusting of the reasons.
Now, if I could invite a second guest, it would be Mother Jones.
There is so much more I want to write – it’s been that way all week. However, when one has a chance to do a deep clean on a beautiful day in July after receiving a new roof that was much needed (even though it interrupted my work), it is absolutely imperative they take it.
With that, I’m off to clean!
Until next time,
