“Art would not be important if life were not important, and life is important.”
– James Baldwin
Nothing like an early morning doodle session…
When the creative part of your soul decides it’s done being quiet, you get a whole lot of ideas at once. Sometimes they are good ones, sometimes not so good. But each one needs your rapt attention, every day, and all of the time.
And if you have been on standby for over a decade, which is my “that one time at band camp” moment, all those still and quiet creative energies begin dancing in a beautiful and whimsical way.
While I thought it would be fun to get all those fun awards on WordPress, it was started to feel forced – as if the whimsy and dancing became a dirge where my shoes didn’t fit properly. The daily prompt became a shadowy figure haunting me when I say down to write and work.
I gave it a good shot, and now it’s back to business as usual.
Until next time,
~ Kimbo
