Come close…I have a story to tell you…
First, I am a delight. Second, I contain multitudes.
I’m currently on a quest to bring all the fractured parts of my soul/self back together. Or, more accurately, to learn from the parts of myself that were chased away by others or myself.
Coming back to writing online was not on my 2026 Bingo card, but after listening to my intuition earlier this year, that took me down a very wild trail, that was important but hard to understand at the time, the Universe said, “Hey, just post something on your site again – every day even if you don’t want to.” Friends, if the Universe gives you some guidance, it’s good to listen.
So here I am in the daily prompt zone (waves to all the other folks doing the daily prompts in hopes of getting followers), and it’s pretty okay. I’ve seen some really good writers, and some folks offering pretty solid information. A lot of you need to apply to National Geographic or something, because your photos are quite literally out of this world. While I’m not a huge fan of forcing AI to do work (none of us are free if any of us are oppressed), those of you working with AI to make the world a better place — I see you over there being respectful of all things. Let’s not forget the reposters – y’all are doing some big work – thank you. It’s always wild to see the little notification come up asking if someone can link back to what I wrote.
Now, for all those stories that I’ve talked about, the ones that are “coming soon,” they are ready to be shared. I’ve got myself peppered all over the internet, and have for years, but this time it’s different, and all things will come home to this spot as the weeks go by. That’s a journey I want to share because I think it’s important for others to see that you don’t need to spread yourself so thin online that you can’t even recognize yourself anymore. Plus, I’m an elder influencer, before that’s what it was called, and I promise you that all that glitters is not gold. If you are seeking to be in that spotlight more than sharing the beauty you carry within you, feel free to ask me how it was to be in that position. Just be prepared for an honest answer.
The huge thing for me right now is leaning into the fear. It’s not a big scary thing under the bed, but little snippets of my own hesitation. Like I wasn’t ready for the next step, which made it easy to hold myself back. Then there’s the ever present voice that sings through the Greek chorus of online bots and algorithms with lyrics like, “no one will ever see your stuff and you will look like a poser trying to be like the big dogs….” I think the title of that might be called Imposter Syndrome. It tells you to overlook all the brave and wonderful things you have done in favor of trying to be liked by people who were never going to like you in the first place. That means just be who you are – well, that’s mostly what it means. I mean it’s like this…some people have a lot more resources than others, and while they could share what they have, they are afraid of letting it go. Some people have no resources and will share everything they have. Sort of like if you have nothing to lose you have everything to give. And that’s not one of those prosperity/manifestation spiritual bypassing sayings, it’s truly how it is if you’ve ever been in poverty. For some time I had to live in my car when I was in my 20s. You get a huge perspective from not having comfort in life. Maybe saying it like this would be different. If you have more than you can eat, build a bigger table, not a higher wall.
Alright before I get on a huge ramble, I’m just saying that having faced all the fears, the only thing left is move forward.
Thanks to all y’all for bearing with me as I waffled around a bit. Y’all will be able to say you knew me “back in the day.”
All love,
~ KimboBurly
